Teacher Background: Mrs. Murphy has been teaching chemistry since 1997,  biology since 1999, and AP Environmental Science since 2003. Before becoming a teacher, she worked as a biologist for the National Park Service at Joshua Tree National Park. She graduated from the University of California, Riverside in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology. She earned a teaching credential from Chapman University, and a CLAD certificate from UC Irvine. She has two great kids, and a husband of 23 years. She enjoys jet skiing, scuba diving, motorcycle riding, and camping.
