As
an art teacher with the Capistrano Unified School District, I have written and
implemented several courses for drawing and painting, jewelry making, ceramics,
and photography. I have also received
several scholarships for continuing education through the following
companies: Art Institute of Southern
California, CREATE (a program to bring students and businesses together), and
JTPA (a school to work program for high school students). I have also received an honors award from the
Capistrano Unified School District for my work in designing an automotive
design course. In addition, I have participated in the Orange County Youth
Business Issues Conference as a guest speaker.
And, I have been an Advisory Committee member for the Regional
Occupation Program Automotive Design program.
I
received my Bachelor's Degree in Drawing and Painting from Cal State University
Long Beach, and I have a Master's Degree in Education from University of
New England. My teaching credentials are in Drawing and Painting, and
Commercial Art. I also hold a Certificate in Environmental Education from the
Marin Headlands Institute.
My
passions lie in the outdoors and I am an avid hiker and cyclist. I am also a member of several environmentally
active mountain biking clubs and participate in trail advocacy and trail
maintenance. I also like to kayak and
snow ski.
