MOD World History

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

We will be following the California State Standards, while concentrating on the following items: continuing improvement of basic world history and geography skills with a focus on reading comprehension, analysis and writing skills as they pertain to the California High School Exit Exam.  In addition individual goals and objectives from each IEP will be closely monitored.

STUDENT BEHAVIOR:

Everyone is to be treated with respect.  No one is allowed to disrupt the learning environment in any way.  Disruptive behaviors or hurtful comments will not be tolerated.

STUDENT RESPONSIBILITES:

Students will earn credit for positive, courteous participation, being on time, and completing assignments.  The behavior expectations found in the student handbook will be strictly followed. 

GRADING:

90 – 100%  A (of the total points available)

80 – 89%    B

70 – 79%    C

60 – 69%    D

50 -  59%    F

*If requested, parents can receive a weekly progress report

ATTENDANCE POLICIES:

The attendance policies outlined in the student handbook will be followed.  The tardy policy will be strictly adhered to, including detentions given for consecutive lateness to class, and if more than 15 minutes late an absence will be given.  No makeup work will be given for students who are truant from class.  Any work done by the class that day will result in a “0” for the truant student.
