CALIFORNIA HIGH SCHOOL EXIT EXAMAll public high school students beginning with the graduating Class of 2006 must pass the two-part California High School Exit Exam in order to receive a diploma. It is given each spring to all 10th graders, and at other times during the year to 11th and 12th graders who have not passed both the language arts section and the math section. The exam measures whether students have mastered California State Standards and Frameworks. The state exit exam website is at: www.cde.ca.gov/ta/tg/hs/index.aspDuring the 2009-10 school year, grade ten, eleven, and twelve students, as well as adult students, are eligible to take the CAHSEE unless they have previously passed the exam. No student who has previously passed the CAHSEE is eligible to retake the exam. Students only retake the part(s) of the Exam not passed. Only grade twelve and adult students may be tested during the July administration.
